Flying Mounts, post 310% thoughts

Got myself a http://www.wowhead.com/?item=43951 today!

Culling of Stratholme was the daily heroic today, and I'd not done it in months. Last time I did it, casuals were in lvl200 epics, and actually wiped in heroics. This time we got the timed event done with about 10 minutes remaining. EZ mode. And I was the only one in the party without the Bronze Drake!

However... A couple of weeks ago I got myself a nice shiny http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44177 which is 310% speed. Like about 5 other mounts in the game. Since I see myself getting none of the other 310% mounts in the near future, it kind of limits me to what I can fly. There are a huge variety of other groovy 280% flying mounts, even just different colours of drakes and proto-drakes. But I'm pretty much limited to my big pink dragon for a while, or else go 30% slower than I could be going. I guess even the rare 280% mounts now also only count towards my 100 mounts achievement. Alas!

Greek Season 3 - Episode 3

One of my favourite "dramedy" shows is back, and the third season is as good as ever. A few specific points, though.

First, Rusty's new girlfriend. I don't like her nearly as much as his first girlfriend (whose name escapes me).

Second, Cappie and Casey. Get together, already!

Third, loving that Frannie is gone. Hated her.

The Vampire Diaries Post-Pilot Thoughts

Decent show with a decent premise, and a series imported from books is always likely to have good writing and stories, but this show suffers from two fatal flaws:

First, True Blood. True Blood is infinitely better, and always will be, and I simply can't get past the image of this being nothing more than a poor man's True Blood.

Second, the actors. To me they all look the same, and have mostly the same wooden performances, with the exceptions of the lead man Paul Wesley and Lost alum Ian Somerhalder.
This fictional school suffers from the typical american teen drama problem which is that the entire cast is unfeasibly attractive and seem to worry more about their relationships and parties than actually attending school.

Nevertheless, the show shows promise, and I'll be following it to see how it turns out.

Tales of Monkey Island

Well, it's finally happened. A new Monkey Island game! This time released in 5 monthly chapters. I've played the first two so far. Absolutely brilliant. Just as good as the previous games. Still laugh out loud funny, still annoyingly difficult puzzles at times. Can't wait for the other 3 parts.

World of Warcraft: How times have changed!

My last WoW-themed post here was written in 2008, before I'd even graduated from Uni. Reading those old posts has made me really nostalgic, and also reminded me how times have changed, and I haven't written any of them down!

So I'll write things down more often now, even though the only people who will likely ever read this are myself in years to come for yet more nostalgia, and Scott.

As of the last post I wrote, my main was level 70 blues mage Dellenar, and my alt was level 42 priest, Nellius.

Now, WotLK has been out for a while, my main is epicced out 80 Priest Nellius, Dellenar is sitting un-used at level 78, and I have an alt of level 70+ of every class except DK, Warrior, Rogue and Warlock.

Nellius is kind of in limbo now. I was in a high-end raiding guild from WotLK release up to Ulduar release. Then personal and computer problems meant I stopped raiding until now. I'm actually shopping myself to guilds again, thinking about rading again!

Currently I'm dual spec Holy/Shadow. Holy for PvE, Shadow for PvP. I'm guildless, in out of date raiding gear, but am working on several achievements and reputations.

I'm currently exalted with: (includes recent pre-LK factions)
Sha'tari Skyguard (which gave me a new tabard, a new pet, and 5 new mounts)
All Four LK dungeon factions
Sons of Hodir
Kalu'ak
Valiance Expedition
Alliance Vanguard

Only missing The Oracles and The Silver Covenant (both revered) and Frostborn and Explorer's League (both dead factions at friendly). And a bunch of pre-LK factions, but that's mainly for kicks and achievements.

I'm also at 19/25 tabards (the rest are basically from older reputations)
73/75 mini-pets (the rest from either rare drops, champions seals, or future world events)
66/100 mounts (loooong way to go there)

I'm hoping I'll join another raiding guild soon, and get really back into the game.

My current alts: (in order of character creation)
Dellenar, level 78 mage. Status: maybe never get levelled any further until just before next expasion
Thenellus, level 72 paladin. Status: slowly being levelled. Low priority.
Nelldar, level 72 hunter. Status: being levelled slowly. Low priority.
Dollon, level 70 druid. Status: being levelled slowly. Medium priority. Logging on most days to do 1-day cooldown inscription spell.
Dellon, level 46 warrior. Status: levelling moderately. Medium priority. Hoping to reach Northrend before christmas.
Nellman, level 80 shaman. Status: now that he's 80, pretty much abandoned. May take him up again to gear up as a raiding alt if the possibility occurs.
Moopi, level 22 rogue. Status: with the recent announcement of worgen for alliance, probably will be deleted to make way for a worgen rogue.
Nellock, level 20 warlock. Status: will probably keep, level up. Very low priority. Except for the future worgen rogue, lowest priority except for:
Nellathor, level 59 death knight. Status: only really there to have a character of each class. Death Knights are too FOTM for me. Maybe level in future, but unlikely.

Another Return to the Blog

Good god. It's becoming a running trend that most of my blog posts here have been "return to blogging" ones. The last post before this one was written in may 2008. It's now August 2009, and so much has happened since then.

I finished my degree, and got a 2:2. I applied for a postgrad course in immunology, got in, started it, did it for 6 months, and dropped out.

I also moved into a flat with Scott! Did it for 6 months, then he dropped out and I moved back home.

I've applied to do a new postgrad course, this time in IT. All that remains before I'm officially "in" is one final reference. Lazy-ass referees!

Anyway, back to the WoW-themed posts.
